GRAPHIC DESIGN YOUTH WORKSHOP

Have you ever wondered what graphic design is, and how to do it? Are you aged between 15 - 25?Come along to Arts Mildura's Introduction to Graphic Design Youth Workshop! Facilitator Maddi Ryan from Alchemy by Maddi will guide and introduce participants to the basics of graphic design. No experience required, just a love to create! 

Date: Saturday 31st August 2024

Time: 11am - 2pm (a 3 hour workshop, including breaks)

Location: Arts Mildura at Nap Contemporary (94 Deakin Avenue, Mildura Vic 3500. Across the road from Wallis Cinema Mildura)

Devices: while we encourage and recommend bringing a device (phone, computer, tablet etc.) it is not mandatory to participate. 

Lunch, snacks and refreshments provided. 

What you'll learn:

- How to use editing programs (adobe, canva, lightroom and more!)

- How to breakdown concepts and briefs 

- How to create cohesive designs (structural understanding, spacing, justifying fonts)

- How to utilise networking and packages 

Structure of the workshop:

- Commence the workshop with introductions and an understanding of what is graphic design

- Explore techniques and skills that are used in graphic design and how to create

- Lunch break 

- Choose from one of 4 mock up client briefs, or create your own, to have a go at the creative design process

- Finish by having a look at each others work
